Pastor Tim Pearson

Tim is a 1981 graduate of Southern Choctaw High School in Silas, Alabama where he was voted Most Athletic and selected as Vice President of his senior class. He is a 1993 graduate of Liberty Bible Institute in Lynchburg, VA.

He is a former Marine and retired U.S. Postmaster with over 32 years of federal service. Tim has been preaching for over 27 years and has served as Pastor of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Melvin, Alabama for nearly 15 years.

In addition to serving God and Country Tim finds time to seek the welfare of his community by serving as a board member on the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman -Supervisory Committee at Meridian Postal Credit Union, President-Melvin Parks and Recreation Board and as a board member for Leadership Choctaw.

In appreciation of his service to his community Tim was selected as the 2009 Citizen of the Year in Choctaw County by the Choctaw Sun-Advocate. He was recently honored with the 2018 Heart of Gold Volunteer Award by the United Way of Southwest Alabama in recognition of his work in the community and United Way Network.

Tim has been married to his wife Melony for the past 34 years and resides in Melvin, Alabama. They have 3 adult children, 1 son-in-Law and 1 grandson.
